Hey everyone!

Scroll down below for a nifty nature-themed poem 🙂
I hope you are all enjoying a lovely spring—wherever you may be. Whether you be an indoorsy or outdoorsy type there is always something … magical about this glorious season. An abundance of life growing alongside the heat of the sun.
As for me, I got to go on a nice, long hike out in the woods this past weekend and IT. WAS. GLORIOUS. Thank you, Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge! I will never stop signing your praises.
Anyways, the hike was fantastic, and something I desperately needed for the revitalization of my soul. Maybe it’s just the country boy in me or maybe it’s something inherent in the human psyche but taking a moment to just breathe is no less than necessary. A moment of unfettered bliss can easily find you when you are surrounded by nothing but birdsong, sunshine, and rustling trees.
In honor of that wonderful place we all go back to, I wrote a little poem to honor its legacy, Placid Pool. I hope you enjoy!

I look upon this placid pool deep in my own thoughts. It’s a mirror of the world around, a memory of all that’s lost. It’s not concrete what’s gone rather like abstract ideals. Something hard to find in modernity’s urban feel. You must be out, amidst the trees, to find a way to say, “I remember what nature has wrought.”
If you liked this little piece, perhaps you would like a longer form of my work? I have two high fantasy novels out there in the wide world (yes, they are in a series 😊), and they are filled with just as much prose and emotion as the work I did here is.
Take care!
