Hey everyone,
I hope that your transition into Fall has been a pleasant one, and that the changing seasons bring hope and fresh ideas to your mind. After all, it can be so easy to fall into the melancholy of loss when seeing those first leaves drop. Instead, I wish that it feels like visiting old family, ones you have been away from for years; that, after the reintroductions and warm greetings, you continue to find the joy of those old bonds instead of feeling the time slipping away. Not to mention the fact that as the cold weather approaches, we get to have things like HOT CHOCOLATE and XMAS lights!
Kind of a glass half full or half empty situation. Do you see a future of hot chocolate and lights or leafless trees and bitter cold? Whichever you pursue, there is no denying the truth. Both outcomes are fundamental truths of our world’s nature—filled with purpose and belonging. The joyful moments act as beacons in the darkness to reunite family and friends. While the cold, stolid march of winter’s embrace fulfills a cyclical necessity as old as the snow-capped peaks it produces. Without either, we—as humans—would be fundamentally altered, if we were to even be in the first place.

As for me, I look forward to hot chocolate with my kids, XMAS morning giggles, and two-day brine turkey that puts those awful pre-brined, grocery-store turkeys to shame. Yet, I also see another truth, that I need a break. I need a moment to recharge my writing engines before I leap into the next novel of Gods Adrift. I need a moment before I continue this relentless social media campaign that I have been a part of.
So, with that being said, I apologize! But I must relax my newsletter posting schedule for the next couple/few months to a once-a-month affair. For those of you who have been enjoying these little snippets of my life, don’t worry! I’m not giving up the goat, I will continue to write, but maybe I need a little regrouping and rearming before I leap back into the fray.

I still am adhering to the quote I cited last newsletter, “Every day is ordinary until it isn’t.” But I am also practical and realize when my mental health needs a bit of a breather before I charge back into the rugged world of independent artist. So, I will see you all next month with an update and until then I hope you find warmth in the coming cold.

Thank you all for reading! Stay tuned next week for more shorts and tidbits from me.
