Hey everyone. I have some exciting news. I have completed my first draft of book two in the Gods Adrift series! As I work through my first round of revisions, I am reminded of the moments and emotions I felt as I was writing. Though there are times where I cringe and say, “why the hell did I write that?” It truly is becoming a part of the writing journey that I quite enjoy.
With that being said I wanted to share a little sneak peak that I was editing this morning. I was quite fond of it even in its raw original form. So, enjoy! Oh, and also check out this beautiful picture of this garden at my work. I find that social media hates words and loves pictures…so, yeah.
Bella stood; her mouth agape. The question she had asked subconsciously fresh on her lips. Her arm pointed towards a sight that her mind refused to fully comprehend. No matter how hard she tried it would not coalesce into a solid thought, like shadows falling away from candlelight. All she knew was that something was horrifically wrong. A trauma so intense that her mind buried itself away from the terror, trying to protect itself from scars that would remain for years.
She did not pull her eyes away, nor did she drop her arm from its outstretched position. Instead, she simply heard Alexa run, the soft patter of her sister’s leather boots pounding the sand. Even the hardy ranger had not run towards the sight immediately, but now as Bella stood frozen, her sister acted—her cloak billowing in the breeze. Bella still could not move, could not wrangle her thoughts together into a usable pattern. She simply was stuck in space as time flowed over her.
